Similar Triangles

We started class with a review of Midsegments from yesterday, then took some notes on proportions and solving similar trigangles. We ended class with benchmarks 20 (on Midsegments) and 25 (on similar triangles). The homework is:
HW: #43 page 483 #12-17, 19-25 (o), 39-44
I also returned benchmarks 22 and 24. Here are the solutions.

Triangle Segments

Special Triangle Segments
• Perpendicular Bisector
• Angle Bisector
• Median
• Altitude
• Midsegment
Use the Math Dictionary to define these for your notes. Draw the pictures, too!

Just benchmarks

Because of the short day today, we only took benchmarks 22 and 24. No homework over Thanksgiving, so enjoy yourselves. Come back from the long weekend ready to buckle down and get the last few benchmarks (5 actually) out of the way and our first semester done.
Remember, Grade Report #4 is due Thursday, Dec. 1. And that is the FINAL DAY to turn it in. That is also the day of the practice final.

Happy Turkey Day!

Chapter 3 Test and benchmarks galore!

After a quick study session, we took the Chapter 3 Test. This will be going on the grading period, so watch for your scores over the weekend. After the test, we retook several benchmarks (13-17), and then took benchmark #21 on classifying triangles. We are almost 2/3 done with the benchmarks! Only 11 more to go!
No homework for the weekend, so have fun.
