The answer I got was 9,567+1,085=10,652. M=1, S=9, O=0, E=5, R=8, D=7, AND Y=2. The M, O, and s are letters that have to be a certain number or else you can't figure out the problem. The other numbers you have to put a little more effot onto, but you find patterns that help you find the numbers you're looking for such as E+1=N was one of the patterns in the equation. You mainly use trial and error.

this problem makes sence but at the same time it dosent, because how do you figure out what number each leter represents? they could be any number.

i used the numbers 19(s) 5(E) 14(N) 4(D)= the letters from the word "send" and then i used 13(m) 15(o) 18(R)= the letters from the word "more". i didnt use the "E" from the word "more" because we already used the "E" from the word "send" and i also used the "Y" from the word "money" which equals 24. i then added all those numbers up (19+5+14+4+13+15+18+24) and the answer i came up with is 112. to check your answer you divide 112(the answer) by 8(the number of letters u used) and you get 14 . you can also multiply 14 and 8 which also equals 112.
SEND + MORE = MONEY

i found the number for m today in class M=1,then i went onto the rest of the equation to try and add up the rest to get a big number so for s i got S=9, for e im pretty sure its E=5, then i kept trying random numbers that would fit and for d i got D=7, for n i got N=6, for for o i figured it would equal zero. then for r is R=8 and the y came out to be 2!

This was a tough one. The amount the student needs is $10, 652. Each letter represents a number: S=9, E=5, N=6, D=7, M=1, O=0, R=8, Y=2.
